I feel safer on the floor.
In the wild I would feel safer not on the floor.
In the wild when you sleep on the ground you're apt to get crawled on by something.
In the world those creatures are mainly gone. So sleeping on the ground of your room is safe.
LOGIC:
If I feel safer sleeping on the floor, why don't I feel as safe sleeping on a raised bed?
The boogie man? Could it be that simple? Some childhood anxiety never resolved?
I used to hide under my bed. Therefore I realize it's possible to be under a bed while someone else is in it. Therefore I don't like it.
In the wildness, if someone is trying to hurt you, the very last thing they'll do is hide under your bed. There are a million ways to Wile E. Coyote kill someone in the wilderness and getting under a mattress is the dumbest, slowest, worst way.
But in the world, hiding in your safe room is precisely how assholes attack. Without honor. It's the best they can do. They don't want to be known.
How'd I get on this topic? Oh yeah why I feel safer on the floor. I have the whole defense of my rest area in my sight at all times.
