Wow A.I. is Stunningly Stupid
I knew I was smarter than AI.
I want to know if any person who was an admiral in a navy was also a head of state. There's only one I can think of.
You know how generals galore have been President through dictator? Either real ones or self appointed. Every two bit authoritarian makes himself a general.
We have had... one moment...
Five. Washington Jackson Taylor Grant and Eisenhower. Did I miss one?
Teddy Roosevelt was only a colonel. A good one.
Damnit I missed William Henry Harrison. Six. I Googled to check but scrolled past the AI answer without even looking at it and found a legit website to tell me.
The website says Andrew Johnson was a general. Yeah but not really. He didn't fight any battles. I don't count him.
Wrong again. Rutherford B. Hayes was a legit general. Seven. And Garfield. Eight. I am starting to feel stupid myself.
The website says Chester A. Arthur and again I disagree. No combat.
Benjamin Harrison. The Civil War made a lot of generals-by-appointment. Favors by Lincoln. Did Harrison fight lemme check...
No. Political favor.
UPDATE:
I was wrong again. I went back to double check that Harrison was a desktop general and he wasn't. He fought at Atlanta etc. as a colonel. Real deal. He earned his star.
And that's it. I missed four. Harrison Hayes Garfield and Harrison B.
We've had nine.
The only Admiral that I can think of from all of world history is Karl Doenitz, who took over after Hitler killed himself for a couple of days.

So I Googled it. My exact query was "heads of state who have been admirals".
A.I. tells me several of our Presidents have been admirals when I know and I know none have.
It's not a complicated question and the result is not only not wrong it makes a completely ridiculous second mistake by telling me that three real admirals were President.
And while Chester Nimitz would have made a much better President than Dwight Eisenhower, he wasn't.
So AI is telling me that three people who weren't President were President. There are only 45. How hard is that to get right?
Ask me to name them in either direction.

That's terrible programming. If the algorithm allows an answer incorrect about such an easy fact then it's worthless.
Trash. Technology is trash when it's built by morons. And the people who program stuff are well. Those boys are quite lame.
Elon Musk is a wuss. Not a Trump level wuss but that's only cause he's younger. Send him out into the wilderness and see how well he does by himself.

AMAZING UPDATE: a half hour? (nope 45 minutes) later I reGoogled it and somehow the AI didn't remake the mistake. How interesting! Is the NSA screensharing my phone?

January 19th, 2029. Convicted by the Senate. Impeached by the Speaker of the House. That'll be me elected earlier that month by the 434 other independents, all freshwomen and men.
