You get on a bus. You see a male in a seat. You don't like him, but it's an empty seat in front of him and he won't hurt you. They haven't yet.
But you rejected him. You looked at him and gave him a look that said "I don't want you yuck", which she certainly gave a supercreep like that. I imagine it would be hard not to.
But she didn't, and you will, think "I definitely don't like this guy for a glaring reason so I better not sit with my back to him."

The more attractive you are, the more it hurts a male to be rejected. Some of us know we are so attractive ourselves we don't care and consider the rejecter an r-word. But some males are so destroyed by being a supreme life loser and being looked at like a gigantic pile of garbage all the time by beautiful women, that there comes a last straw. When their "fuck it" meats your "fuck you".
